Background and Personality Flags - Slang/Casual/Formal
It will not solve the problem of personality and other things a background offer besides skill. In CE you can have flexible skill point e.g arcane is not tied to academic background. It is great if you want to choose the background for the side quest but still be able to pick usefull skill as well.

Kindred Spirits Druid & Summoning suggestions
Honestly the bear is the most useful spirit combat wise. The wolf cant climb and flying ones is too fragile. The no save stun is devastating at lower level/higher difficulty and using wildshape to mitigate the damage/stun when the spirit is about too die just waste 1 or 2 of your turn. Kindred spirit and circle of the wind is pale compared to land(grass/mountain) and there is no reason to bring one instead of land(unless...
