You tried, but the lighting system deviations from 5e are unfun and tedious.
They are having some serious issues with the Z axis in general. Once they get those sorted, I think it will naturally sort that aspect of the problem with lighting at least. As far as how they changed the actual lighting rules, yeah. I find that really frustrating. I'm curious to see what changes they have made recently to address concerns.
