New classes are pointless
You don't need the traditional classes, I am currently trouncing Solasta with a Witch, Ranger, Monk, and Wizard. New classes are pointless
To put it quite simply, D&D combat system was not designed to cap the max party at 4. You could play that way, but that are some roles A D&D party has to meet : Tank, Healer/support, Wizard and someone who can deal with traps. Now where exactly do you find room for a Bard or a Monk in a party of 4 ? Completely agree. If I am ever going to include classes like...

I love Solasta very much. But sorry OP I fundamentally disagree with you. I do very strongly miss RTwP; TB combat just plain sucks, and is the biggest downside of Solasta. And please don't push on me the nonsensical argument that just because the TT version of the game is TB (which it *has* to be because you cannot play any TT game without players taking turns), the video game version also has to be...

It is a possible compromise to simply not add the more problematic spells. They have left the 1st lvl Conjure Familiar out, for example. Part of the problem is that such high tier spells tend to be very mechanically complex as well, which will be a strain for actually making them work. I'm not against it, but I'm not expecting it. Something worth keping in mind is that the balance isn't just going to be...

This discussion continues to be great, and is really helping me get more educated on 5e. One question, though, about going above 12th level and dealing with 7th+ level spells: the SRD allows TA to use whatever is allowed in it but it doesn't require that everything be used. So why not go beyond 12th level, including bringing in spells of 7th level and higher, and simply leave out those spells that would be innappropriate/game-breaking/OP/a...
