Necromancy?
Anyhow, if my memory is correct, the spell Animate Dead (SRD) is not in-game. Correct. I believe that is because of it's one minute casting time. It also is quite a complicated process to use it to manufacture even one undead minion. The Summon Undead spell in Tasha's is a more practical spell to use in combat, but that isn't SRD. If the spell is implemented... maybe some casters, including Domains, might have some interaction...

Necromancy?
They can't do a necromancy subclass for wizards since it's not in the SRD. They also can't really do Animate Dead as written, since it has a casting time of 1 minute. They could do something homebrew, such as an undead companion that is functionally similar to the spirit druid companion (so long as it isn't for wizards). It looks like Lost Valley DLC will include a necromancy themed subclass for sorcerers (and possibly druids)...

Dev Stream, Multiplayer Beta Weekend & Lost Valley DLC announced!
As such, what I hated most with both 2e and 3.5e was that they heavily favored spellcasters, and especially wizards, and especially at higher levels. But my understanding is that 5e is supposed to have fixed all that, and now warriors, including melee warriors, are more equivalent to spellcasters in power. LOL. No.
