I ran it through twice. Did both; did neither. Made no difference. Stole from chest; didn't steal. No difference. The illusory dragon even accused my party of stealing the shield when they had not taken it. Would have been nice if these choices had mattered in some way. Perhaps the developed intended them to, but ran out of time, money, etc?
