Why do I like Solasta so much more than BG3?

And yes, the Scavenger system is inspired!!!

What a great idea!

And, of course, crafting your own magic weapons!!!!!

Another thing I just noticed. The world around you, when you are outdoors, looks real and vivid and full of detail.

When you are journeying and have a battle that is in daytime and outdoors, notice how vivid it is.

Mostly I love it because of the day/night planning. Start your day just after sunrise, because we have to be done before it gets dark. It's baffling to me that BG3 doesn't have a day/night cycle.

All very good answers! Count me in on the Solasta train. i guess I've always wanted tabletop DxD with miniatures, which is what Solasta really reminds me of, which Silverblade points out above. The future looks bright for Solasta; BG3 seems to be more of the same DOS barrelmancy which might be even more dated by the time BG3 actually releases.

I think it is very unfair to compare right now couse Solasta is a full release and BG 3 is still in early access. I definetly enjoy Solasta more couse it's a full experience with all content aviable and with all features implemented by now. Where as BG 3 is still very much work in progress and you can see that, I think by the time it's finished it's gonna be great but a very different experience to Solasta anyways.

BG 3 graphics are stellar though, haven¨t seen such a good looking game yet especially the facial animations are incredible.

And something I just thought about: the battle arena is truly 3 dimensional. Those damn Soraks climb walls like spiders, you can fly and it makes for a great battleground.

Yes, that's what really distinguishes Solasta from every RPG that has come before it. I really think it has the best combat mechanics we've seen in the genre.I haven't tried BG3 yet. In theory, it's more my type of game because I usually prefer rich characterization and branching story lines. But its EA period has been rocky and I've never been all that impressed by the writing in Larian's games.

Another aspect of Solasta that I really love has been the developer's commitment to creating tools for player-created content.

I didn't play BG3 but tried to play D:OS and D:OS2. Their map designs feel too messy for my taste (Same applies for BG3 as far as I can tell from game play videos). Solasta has nice balance in detail and fresh clean look if you get what I mean.

BG3 was made by D:OS lovers while Solasta was made by D&D lovers.
It's that simple...
