When fighting Lizzaria, she usually starts out her fight casting "Vampiric Touch". I fought this battle a bunch of times and was bummed that she always hit my Paladin (AC 23). At first I thought the computers just lucky, but then I noticed that whenever she casts it, there is no hit roll. It just deals damage. Im not sure if it just auto-hits the turn its cast, or also on future turns, because so far ive always broken her concentration before its her turn again, but even if its only on the turn its cast it makes the spell much better, please fix this soon.
According to the spell description for 5e, Vampiric Touch is supposed to do a melee spell attack, so it should definitely have to roll to hit against your AC.
Typos happen. More so on the phone.
I noticed the same thing. No hit roll, straight to damage.
