V1.0.18: Ancient Library: Flying character gets "No path to destination"

In the quest "Honor your Masters" while escorting Master Dackin through the Ancient Library, after the fight with the skeletons, you need to get across a gap to a platform to proceed. My warrior can jump over and push down a pillar to make a path for everyone else to get there, including Master Dackin, but a character who has Fly cast upon them cannot cross the gap - it seems that the gap around that platform is somehow marked as a "no-fly zone" and since the character can't land and jump across, they can't make it at all without cancelling the Fly spell.

Experienced same issue this evening.

Fight with honor, die with glory

Yes, a character with Fly active is unable to cross even the shortest possible jump. Damned annoying.

Even worse, in some circumstances, there's a gap that the character can neither fly over nor jump over, so he's totally blocked (e.g. in the stupid floating platforms puzzle).

You know you can remove the fly spell with forcing to loose concentration on upper right corner of char pic in the left down corner?

Even so, it doesn't feel good to have to cancel a useful spell that's supposed to increase mobility in order to progress forward. They should be able to fly over and activate the bridge in the case that nobody could make the jump, not rely on cancelling their spell in order to be allowed to walk over.

Probably an engine limitation. A character cannot fly over a square that cannot be walked on. The fly spell can stop working at any time and if that happens when the flying character would be over a square that cannot be walked on the character would be permanently stuck after falling down. So they removed the ability to fly over unwalkable squares.

Seems that I can use Fly to cross the water to an island (as can be found in the Dark Castle area), which normally wouldn't have access, though that is a little different then having nothing at all below your flying character.  It doesn't allow me to target the space over the water even if I normally move through that area to get to the island though.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I was able to reach the area with 18 strength, 7 Athletics and the Jump spell after getting stuck there after running out of the Fly spell.

They wouldn't be stuck, they would be dead. You can Misty Step over floorless terrain, then Feather Fall to your doom a few metres below, followed by a pop-up to spend a Revivify/Raise Dead to bring the party member back.

It's a shortcut solution to having to fix the problem properly. Is it justified? No idea, I haven't got the foggiest idea how much work it would be to go through every map and make the entire grid friendly to Spider Climb and Fly.

It's a shame though - the current implementation just makes these spell effects frustrating to use. I'd prefer they just unlocked the grid for flying, shading cells an angry red in places with no valid floor, "if you lose flight here you will die". Rez scrolls are abundant.
