When controlling a summoned creature such as Flaming Sphere or Spiritual Weapon, you can choose to either move it or have it attack (in which case it automatically moves to the target). This does not make sense to me. Maybe I want to move the creature into a more advantageous position first (i.e. the cursor tells me the attack will be made with disadvantage because the summon is currently in dim light, but it will be in bright light once it reaches the enemy) before attacking. Is this a bug or intentional?

You can move and attack, but you have to be careful to click attack on your target and let the game auto-move your summon. If you accidentally just move your summon, that will end it's turn. This hopefully is a bug that they will address in an update.
Yes, that was my point. I want to decide how to move the creature and THEN attack. Maybe I don't like the path it's taking or I want to attack from a specific angle. So it is a bug. Thanks for confirming.
