Stuck in story progression at Cradle of Fire

I returned the axe, long rested and talked to Brok who says he is ready. My journal says Brok is ready go to the Redscar Gate Gall and meet the orc that will help me. I can't find him anywhere else and he just stays in his tribe home and cannot be talked to again. I tried going to the gate behind the wall hanging where the Emperor was and it is inactive. Don't know if it has hung up or if I just can't see or figure out where I am supposed to go.

Did you try going to the locked door that is straight across from where you enter the Redscar Gate? It previously could not be unlocked. Now you should be able to open it and meet Brok.

There are no unopened doors for me. I think the one you mean is the one to the Dark Lady part of the missions. My journal names a matching location on the map. Maybe I will just have to keep the axe and fight all the remaining orcs to advance. There is no way to leave the orc area to go do other things so I clear this mission or my game is stopped dead where it is now.

I'm blocked at the exact same point.
Brok is still near the "resting fire" where he spoke to my group and is no responsive anymore now and there is no "orc that will help me" anywhere...

Just a beer .... nothing else matter.

Was stuck here too and went over to where Brok was on the map. That didn't work but the quest marker showed somewhere else, so I went over to the other tribes. For me, I believe Sandraven triggered the cutscene, but now I'm at Bloodspear, so maybe try both! Hope that helps.

Go back to Necropolis and once you enter take the door right in front of your arrival.

Tried a second run where I did the axe/key in a different order. Had the same problem happen. I have been to the Necropolis at least a dozen times now to see if he will spawn. I'll try the other surviving chief again. I know people have made it through here (and some complained about bugs at the main BBEG fight). If all else fails I will start from just before fighting the dark queen and then keeping the axe. See if that line changes things.

I finally got mine to work by going back to the arena. Not where Brok showed previously.

I got some good advice in an early post but didn't understand what the writer meant. If you go to the transition door leading back to the mausolium but don't go back in the crypt area itself there is a third door in that dark room. On my screen it is so dark I never noticed the orc totem or the door. I wanderer around hitting alt in every room looking for anything that turned yellow and finally found the door. Following the yellow dot on my compass helped clue me in. I had never noticed or tried that door in four different play throughs until the final fifth time.

I walked back and forth in this area for about 10 minutes missing the door.  I think this is the first and only time in the campaign I was unable to find a thing.  It made me feel a little better that I'm not the only person who couldn't see the door.  This makes me think it could use some adjustment to make the door stand out more and potentially to direct the player at the door more clearly.  A random NPC orc standing in front with a text bubble that says "this way" would work and wouldn't require additional voice lines (though it would require localization).

I mean, unless the team intended for this to be hard to find and for people to start a playthrough over to try and get around a "bug" in the game.  I'm assuming that wasn't the intention of the level designers.

I can’t even get the RedScar gate to open, even though I’ve completed the stuff for the 2 other tribes.

I agree with this... the problem is compounded if you have left the game and come back a day or 2 later you forget the door you could not open previously. Luckily the internet has the advice...
