Is it possible to get .stl files for the characters? I'd love to 3d print them and paint them if given the opportunity.

.stl are just static 3D models, and being open is the way to go for a small team.
Also you could let players buy them (=more gold).

Bumping this thread in agreement. Only addition I'd make is that I'd like to 3d print my characters in what they're wearing and wielding in the game now, not based on what they're like on their lvl 1 character sheets.
