Sparkle can't target, sometimes doesn't show up as an option to casdt at all.

Wall torches are not targetable by sparkle in the next battle(the last one in Caer Lem) either.

Regarding it not appearing, I didn't realize before that it appeared as a bonus action during combat.  If I could edit the headline(and the associated typo) I would.

That's strange, I just cast Sparkle in the caves of Caer Lem in our Winter Update video. Are you sure you are correctly clicking on them? Pressing Alt should highlight the interactable torches on the wall 

I was using the alt key and I tried numerous times, reloading saves, etc...  I am certain that I was clicking directly on them.  When I hovered the mouse over them(while not holding alt) they did not highlight as a potential target.  In either case clicking directly on them did nothing.

When I am able to(this evening) I will run a "Check Local Files"(or whatever they call it) on Steam to make sure my installation isn't corrupted.  If I still experience the problem, I will post here.

After installing today's patch and doing a Steam "Verify Integrity of Game Files", I am still having the issue.  Torches cannot be targeted.

Tonight I will probably start up a new playthrough with a new wizard and see if I have the issue.  Maybe it was just a weird bug during character creation or something.  From what I can gather I'm the only person having this issue.

With my new game I was able to cast sparkle no problem.  It must have been something bugged with either the character or the save.

I am having the same issue. No sparkle or firebolt targetting possible from the first tutorial on. 

Follow up, not sure how related it might be, but in the chamber after the rotating bridge where my sparkle isn’t working I ran around light with a torch just because. Well, my guy is doing the open chest animation or something and is often lighting torches from bizarre locations. Like, I click on one with no floor under it hoping he could reach around the column and instead he climbs down, faces away toward a different column and does the open chest animation there and the torch pops into life way the heck back up on the first column. 

It sounds like your save is bugged like mine was.  Maybe e-mail it to the address Myzzrym mentioned, and mention this thread by name.  If you had the same problem I had, it's not just a total fluke, so it's probably something the devs should look in to.

In the meantime, all I can suggest is to start a new game(or maybe skip back to a much earlier save, but you never know when the bug happened).

I can send my save, but it was bugged from the start and occurred before ever loading anything.

I'm just beginning a new playthrough and have got to that Sorak fight. I didn't try to target torches with sparkle but I did try targeting Soraks (of course) and had several issues where a wall-hanging Sorak was in darkness when it should be illuminated and unable to be targeted by someone in clear line of sight.

Just an update:  I played through Dark Castle this weekend with my new party(the one that had no trouble with Sparkle in the Sorak fights), and I was unable to target anything(torches or the wall orbs) with Sparkle on the floor with Akhsha.

It's as if the bug only occurs, randomly but permanently, for certain zones.  Hope this info helps narrow things down.

Edit: Forgot to add, I was able to target torches on both the outdoors area and the first floor of Dark Castle.  Only the Akhsha floor was a problem.  I don't recall if I tried it on the puzzle floor.
