So having nothing really to do today I quick whipped up a map...

Its basically the Slums of Old Phlan from the Pool of Radiance Gold Box Game layout.

Some 3d Visuals here.. .

But Honestly I don't know what to do with it really, it was unplanned and honestly the visuals don't look much different from my previous works. I was thinking to myself... well I could either recreate the entire level of the Old Phlan Slums which of course was a low level module... or I could make a whole new one and call it Dwellers of the Forbidden City or something like that and make it something for high or medium levels... .  looking at the map it kinda gives me the same vibes as that original 1st Ed Module did.

Soooo...

For those who play Dungeon Maker Modules...

Would you prefer a Remake of the Old Gold Box Slums of Old Phlan... or something different like Dwellers of the Forbidden City?

Second of all What Level Ranges would you prefer to play or have it made for?

I think it would be nice to have a remake of Slums of Old Phlan, so that would be nice. But then I also think that DM works best with mid level characters. Low level characters can be killed quite easily, and high level characters need tons of monsters and combat becomes too slow... Or just repeat the same high CR monsters all the time... So I think that something between 4th and 6th level is what works best in terms of diversity and fun!

But just do what you think best!

I have a couple of low level encounters I'm playtesting. The first is a literal dungeon crawl and the second is a cultist compound. Should have them up on Nexus later this week, so I vote for mid-level (3-5) for yours. But agree with Lockhy, high level encounters either get too large, too repetitive, or too unrealistic (skeletal marksmen plus minotaurs plus goblin shamans).
