Slowdown and can't save in Bonekeep

Currently stuck in the Bonekeep. Just beat the undead woman on my second playthrough. After killing her I go through the gate to the floor with the "stairs". Upon killing a ghost my party hits level 5. As soon as I hit level 5 the game slows way down. Everything I interact with (doors/chests etc.) takes a very long time. Like at least 30sec-1min. I also can't save the game, no matter how far I backtrack or how clear the floor is of enemies. This didn't happen on my first playthrough, though by the time I hit level 5 I'd basically beaten the EA on that attempt. If it was just the save issue, I'd complete my playthrough and worry about it later. But the slowdown makes it next to unplayable. I don't think it's an issue with my PC. It handled the first playthrough just fine.  Otherwise loving the game. This is the first major issue I've had other than stuff occasionally disappearing from my inventory.

I'm having the same issue, but I haven't hit level 5 yet so I don't think it's related to that. It must be something to do with the maze area of the bone keep.

Update: So I foolishly played for another hour without being able to save. I didn't think I could go back to the long rest point (my mistake) but eventually got into a fight I knew I couldn't win. So I reloaded my last save, losing 80 minutes of time. This save was right before I had entered the room with the ghost, after first activating the maze. For whatever reason, I was able to save and interact with stuff normally from this point, where previously after the ghost fight the container there was the first bugged thing for me.

TLDR: If you have this happen, try immediately returning to your previous save and see if you can go normally from there.

I had essentially the same problem after the ghost room.

I went into the room and clicked on the container. The ghost attacked me so I killed it, then tried again to open the container. Long delay (30 secs, perhaps?) before container animation then nothing happened. From then on all activations had that long pause and all attempts to save told me I couldn't do so in that area. This still happened after leaving the maze and a couple of fights later I got killed. When I reloaded the earlier save and replayed the maze everything was fine - I could save and I could interact normally.

My biggest problem was that I believed the message telling me I couldn't save 'in that area', so I thought it was some really aggravating design feature that you couldn't save during the maze puzzle. By the time I realised that it was a bug I had a lot of time and effort invested since the previous save. The joys of early access ;)

On the other hand, on the second time through I had guessed how to get to the long-rest area, so swings and roundabouts.

I can confirm that I've also hit the "takes 30 seconds to activate anything" late in the bone keep.  Not sure if it was the ghost that triggered it, but it was around that time.  And yeah, I've also had the "you can't save right now" happen.  I don't think the two are related though...  The not saving tends to happen earlier than the activation lag.

I've finished two playthroughs and both bugs hit me both times.

Is that similar to this issue, have you seen the exception?

From your descriptions, it seems to be the same problem.

I guess we'll never know. Anyway, this seems to be the same problem.

This happened several times to me in the Bone Keep including outside in the courtyard with not being able to save. If memory served, I think I got past this problem by a Long Rest at a camp site. Seemed to refresh and I was able to save after.
