If a party member is sleeping during an Ambush, they should really only be surprised, not "magically asleep/unconscious". Currently, they stay asleep during the battle until they take damage.
Pretty sure, from memory (which is not perfect), that there is a wake action. I remember just needing to target your sleeping ally.

OK. I could have sworn we tried that. But if we ever get surprised while sleeping again, we will try that.
I know this doesn't work following a battle where a party member went unconscious but stabilized. But RAW is that they need time or healing to wake from an unconscious state. Still annoying to burn a healing potion or spell to get them up.
If you have dying or stabilized allies after a fight just take a Short Rest and they will awaken with 1 hit point plus have the option to expend additional Hit Dice to heal further.
