I've read that you click a book that one of the ghosts is holding to unlock the treasure room but all the ghosts are gone. I'm totally stuck. Have another secondary quest here too. Runs in the family. I assume both these quests are in the same area but how do I open the treasure room without the ghosts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How about telling others what you did? It seems strange to ask others for help but then not providing the same courtesy to others....

Use the alt key (or equivalent on your system) to highlight all interactable items. The book shows up.
