I was in Caer Lem, just cleared the goblin cave and has a lot of weight to get rid of. I paused the game, opened the map, selected a spot near the entry and when the new map location opened I saw only one character circle was shown. I clicked the Whole Group button in the top left (above the character portraits) and the whole screen went blank/black.
I can see the cursor on the screen but can not tell if clicking does anything. Esc to open the menu does not seem to work. I have tried to open the inventory, map, character screen etc hoping to get a screen update or something similar. Nothing works so far.
I have not tried to replicate this bug yet. Will update if I can figure out how to do it again.

I've had this same issue multiple times.
If my camera is on one area, or on a character that's split from the rest of the party, and I hit the whole group button the camera seems like it wants to fly back to the main group but just stays black. This happened both before and after the winter patch. Only resolution for me is to close game via windows task manager and restart.
Thanks for the confirmation. Is that random, or did you find a pattern to make it proc?
I don't know how random it is but I was able to reproduce it just now doing this:
- Split one party member who is not leader off from the group to far away on map
- Hit group button
- Camera flies back to leader and the others
- Click on portrait of party member who is on other side of map
- Screen goes black and UI is unresponsive.
Windows 7, all patches current, nVidia card.
