I really used to enjoy 5e TT homebrew/local rule games with my friends and people in the local gaming club. Among these experiences, there were some great ideas about psionic features. Some people, including myself, think that the design of psionic ability and psionic class is not enough or does not catch the unique characteristic feature of psionics in the current D&D 5e (including UA contents). So we used to try some interesting features and concepts in our TT games. This mod is motivated by these experiences, plus I get motivations from the SW franchise and D&D/non-D&D fantasy games. It would be a lie if the mod is not motivated by SW and other content at all. But I tried to create something a little unique based on these idea sources.
As the mod is now in better shape and 80% of the plan is finished, and as the date of full release incoming, I think it would be a good time to share the master plan of this class as a preview to advertise this mod in advance, and motivate other players and potential modders to launch their own projects, and appreciate TA to this great game, and listen to any reflections.
This mod is still under development and under playtests, there is room for some modifications and balancing in the near future for details and options. I think some changes in details will be inevitable based on tests and feedback, so if you have something to comment on, please feel free to do so. Plus, even if I release the mod, I will keep working on this mod to further modify or balance things and fix the mod following Solasta's patch. There are some ideas I had but couldn't realize in the mod, but if TA updates their game engine to enable more features, then I will be happy to use them in my mod. But please understand, that the overall structures, major concepts, and key features probably won't change that much because most of the code is already done, sometimes it is too burdensome to modify all.
My personal goal is to publish this mod at the moment of the full release, but I guess it may be a bit later than the full release because I need to test this mod under full-release condition and several quick fixes and patches and etc. But anyway, my plan is to publish this within this month at least.
