PLEASE HELP - Infinite Loading Screen

Hello,

I am playing through Xbox Game Pass on PC and I have also tried the steam version and have the exact same issue on both. I have read the thread about the infinite loading screen but nothing there has fixed my issue, plus there have been no responses for a very long time. But the issue that I am having is an infinite loading screen on the initial loading screen and I have never seen the main menu to adjust any settings. I am running windows 10 with a AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core Processor, 32 GB RAM, Nvidia 2060 Super 8GB. I have not seen any thing to help with my specific issue. It seems like its issues with loading saved games. Please help, I have never played this game and really want to.

Hello!

Sorry to hear that you are having such troubles. A few steps that helped other users which I hope could be of assistance to you too :

1. For the Steam Version : Deactivate the cloud both on the game (Proprieties -> General -> Steam Cloud) and on the application (Steam -> Parameters -> Cloud -> Uncheck "activate Steam Cloud synchronization with compatible applications")

2. Remove the entire Solasta Folder from C:\Users\...\AppData\LocalLow\Tactical Adventures\Solasta (make a copy of it elsewhere to not lose all your data)

3. Start it to see if it works (From Steam preferably)

4a. If it worked, one of your files might be corrupted due to the double installation (MS Store + Steam). If you have any characters or saves you wish to add back, I would advise to only add back the "Characters" folder and "Saves" folder one by one, and checking in between that everything still works (to see if one of your character or save is corrupted).

4b. If it is still not working, I would advise to uninstall on both MS Store and Steam and only re-install the game on one platform (Steam without the cloud activated preferably) to at least check if it can be run this way without issues.

Other solutions that worked for some users :

1- Update the graphic card drivers

2- Add an exception to their anti-virus (especially if using Avast or Norton).

If none of that works, could you please send us your Player Log at contact@tactical-adventures.com ?

You can find this file in C:\Users\...\AppData\LocalLow\Tactical Adventures\Solasta

(To be safe, you can send us your "Logs" folder if there is anything as well as the Player.txt and Player-prev.txt)

Thank you for your time!

Thank you for getting back to me, unfortunately none of those worked. I am not sure what is keeping me from playing this game. I have never been able to play it as I cannot get to the main menu. I am stuck on the initial loading screen. The ring in the bottom right spins but the loading bar is not moving past about 90%. I have went ahead a purchased the game on Steam since it seems most people have found possible fixes on it. But most of those issues are for loading saved games. I will continue to try to research things and any more help you could provide would be great. Thank you again.

I sent in a email to the email you provided. It seems like the sound engine is not working or it is causing a crash of some type according to the log from what I can understand. I had to send the plyer log as a google doc because it was way over the 25MB allowed for a file attachment.

Sorry to hear it did not work, and thank you very much for providing your logs!

I forwarded them to our Engineer Team and the last time a user encountered your issue, it was linked to their anti-virus that removed the audio .dll during the installation / first launch. The solution found was to set an exception on the entire solasta folders (both in AppData and in the Steam location), to then uninstall and re-install the game (to get the DLLs back - just the exception does not work on its own) and to launch the game.

If that does not work, another solution is to re-try those steps but before launching the game, setting the anti-virus on "hold" just at least for the first launch to make sure it is the cause.

Let me know if it works for you as well !

So, to be on the safe side, I disabled my anti-virus and did the exception before the first start up after a new install. IT WORKED... Thank you very much for the help, I now know what do to. I really appreciate all that you have done. Thank you again and have a happy new year.
