The unique game that i played who allows you to assume an dragon form and summon an army. Unfortunately wings are not like on pnp due lack of verticality...

I sank more than 100 h in this game! But thanks the gods for the Turn Based mod, I wouldn't have been able to bear it otherwise. I'm having real trouble with RTwP :(

I backed P:K very enthusiastically. That game and PoE2 are my go-to cRPGs right now. Thank God at least a few studios are still making RTwP cRPGs. :)

More than 200h here!
Like Myzzrym, I had to wait for the turn-based mod to really enjoy the game.
It's a real slog after a certain level (12+), though. Encounters feel too much like LoL for my taste. 60 AC and +50 bonuses? I want my bounded accuracy back!

To be fair, the game was not intended to be played turn-based, and it's really enjoyable for at least 100h if you like Tabletop tactics and meaningful fights.

They coming out with a new Pathfinder CRPG, Wrath of the Righteous. It has all of the classes and races of PF: KM, plus Oracle and Witch, and new unnamed race. Possibly more as stretch goals when they do a Kickstarter for WotR.

Plus 6 Mythic Paths, Lich,  Angel,  Trickster (Fey), Demon.

Yea we're so excited about their next project!

A large part of why I loved 3.5 was all the min-maxing and optimization you could do to get insane numbers. That being said, I kind of remembered why bounded accuracy was a thing in 5e after watching my spellcasters struggle to land a single hit with their crossbow (even at lower level).

Yeah, need to get back to it. Finished the introduction (up to the point of getting the land to manage), and didn't manage to bring myself out.

So far combat has been frustratingly repetitive, though writing is what I struggled to fight my way through - I don't know if it's sarcastically selfaware, or just straight up bad.

The whole thing did have this junky charm to it though. Need to get back to it.

Pathfinder kingmaker is a good.Although I've played recently after all bugs and balance issues were fixes.  Started with neutral good ranger, ended up with evil lawful monk/sorcerer after all kingdom business .

Looking forward to see if they can improve on next game

The game was great until it got into trying to manage government with the limited set of 'advisors' then it all fell apart for me. The game kept giving me administrative assignments that only one advisor was suited for, and requiring some insane amount of time to complete each assignment. Many of the possible assignments expired before my suitable advisor was available again.

Either they need to chuck out this whole 'government' administration thing, or else make it so that advisors can actually finish a job in a day or so, instead of taking three weeks. Else, they need to give the player a whole cabinet of advisors or consultants to work with. But seriously? Running a kingdom wasn't what I played the game for. I was in it for the dungeon crawl.

It was decent but I just couldn’t deal with the kingdom management stuff. I just want to explore and kill monsters.

Yes you can set the kingdom on auto pilot but my personality won’t allow me to ignore a major component of a game.

I've never actually finished the game, so I've started an Eldritch Scoundrel character to give it another shot.

It starts out fun, but by the time enemies with Beguiling Aura becomes common I tend to get annoyed and lose interest. I'm pretty sure that ability is bugged in a way that makes it significantly more powerful than intended.

Typos happen. More so on the phone.

A year or two ago, I played a ton of PF:K. The great thing was the sheer build variety and relatively faithful adherence to its TT rule set. The downsides were: RTwP (basically made over half the builds I’d want to try out unfun because of poor AI/need to micromanage/etc), kingdom management (they tied some good gear to playing that annoying minigame, had some traps w.r.t. advisors, there’s no real way to opt-out without giving up good rewards), and the fact that PF 1.0 TT rule set is basically D&D 3.5e and it has a lot of needless complexity. Been meaning to do another run now that I’ve read that turn-based is a thing and I could probably get what I need out of the kingdom junk with a good guide. The DLC (Varnhold’s Lot?) was solid, very fun, not bogged down, series of dungeon crawls to advance a thin plot - really enjoyed that interlude to the main game.

I loved it and I took my sweet time (and my ending path was the long one... argh).
Many hours... won't say how many as it would sound like a competition.

Like Dem87, I played last year to make sure almost all major bugs were crushed.

I was able to manage the Kingdom, and even challenge myself to get all stats to 10 before doing the last chapter(s), but I can easily understand how it can get screwed for others without the "right" companions.  Having your main character spend two weeks on projects/tasks was stressful and odd, so I focused on doing all quests (resting only when exhausted) and accepted to fail a few Kingdom tasks.  That said, there is supposed to be a Kingdom "easy" or "auto" mode, but I have not tested it (?).
- I presume that sort of game dynamic is not in Wrath of the Righteous.

@Skyria : I agree the Varnhold's Lot DLC was fun and it really added to the main story.

My only real criticism is the long ending is really really too long.  It burnt me out though I am a completionist!  I took a break a month or two before finally finishing the un-ending end.

( ps: yikes, I am a year late to the conversation. :P )
