New classes are pointless

To put it quite simply, D&D combat system was not designed to cap the max party at 4. You could play that way, but that are some roles A D&D party has to meet : Tank, Healer/support, Wizard and someone who can deal with traps.

Now where exactly do you find room for a Bard or a Monk in a party of 4 ?

So you never played a campaign with 3 players? You must have been lucky to always be with 4+1 (DM) friends at the same time.
This isn't a raid in an MMO

Always had at least 4 players, if only 3 could make, we didn't even do it. Fun aspect apart, I can't imagine surviving with 3 players, unless the DM pulls some easy, tailor made 3 player adventure.

Don't get trapped into narrow thinking.  D&D is about creativity as well.  Most classes can fulfil multiple roles, even simultaneously in the group.  And sometimes, having to deal without a specialized role, makes it that much more fun.

In our group, a Wizard is our "front-line tank".  A Paladin is our healer and off-tank.  I can absolutely see how, particularly with some unique subclasses, Monk, Wizard and Bard can also fulfil multiple roles in a 4-person party.

Completely agree. If I am ever going to include classes like monk or warlock, or even barbarian and druid, in my party, I am going to need more than four party slots.

I wish it were possible to have a party size six mod uploaded to Steam Workshop, and not have to use an external mod manager to add in such a mod to the game, because this mod is the most important mod of all.

Trap disarming is totally optional in Solasta, there really aren't any situations where "just take the damage" isn't a valid answer. Wizards are totally optional, there aren't any puzzles that require spells or anything. Identify is such a big QOL thing that no one would want to skip it but it's on the Bard list. Monks can be pretty tanky by spamming Patient Defense and Bards have as much healing as you actually need (which is the ability to cast Healing Word, pretty much).

You are right it should allow 6 characters group (max)

But I would like to see all classes that 5th edition rules allow since they got the license from WoC, so we have a choose. Its a lot to ask from them but I would like to see all rules in place before I play the campaign.

I disagree that DnD only works with 4 heroes.

However, I agree that with the current lack of identify oppurtunities (very expensive for an early game party, if no one can identify. Problematic in late game, when no acces to merchants, as well as custom dungeons).
This could be solved by allowing identify for money always, or giving merchants more "wands of identify".

You don't need the traditional classes, I am currently trouncing Solasta with a Witch, Ranger, Monk, and Wizard. Could definitely go through the campaign with 3 characters, and even if it was the worst class ever, I'd gladly trade a spot out for a Bard, just for the fun of it.

Well, for me, simply beating the game is not why I play games like this one. In fact, when I replay these games, I rarely ever play to the end of the game. My enjoyment comes mainly from being able to roleplay my character, and in the case of party-based games roleplaying my whole party. And assigning party roles to party members is a huge part of this roleplaying. Furthermore, I also like having quirky, oddball companions in my party, companions who don't bring much to the party for combat but bring a lot of roleplaying opportunities.

I wouldn't mind a bigger party size, but the current size certainly does not make more classes useless. More classes and subclasses allow for more variety and replayability. For example with the newest Wizard Subclass I am actually running a Wizard as my tank in this new playthrough which allowed me much more choice in what other classes I added to my party.

Obviously a bigger party cap would be a great - and is almost ALWAYS a limitation of these games due to necessity not desire. Balancing encounters and entire campaigns increases in complexity with each added member in a party. That said, again... we'd all love that.

I do think you're being a bit harsh on party comp. This goes back to my actual d&d experience. I run two campaigns. One has no cleric. They haven't died yet because they are very creative players and have great synergy of classes. Don't knock playing 4 spell casters until you try it lol!

If one of your requirements is just "someone who can deal with traps" then won't anyone proficient with thieves tools technically fill the role?  And aren't there backgrounds that take care of that?  (I'd say a Bard should really be able to do that out of the box, but I don't recall if that's true in 5th Edition.)

Lowlife background grants proficiency with Thieves tools. As does the Lockbreaker feat.

You can also use the "pogo-stick mine detector" option. That's any high hit point character and a healer on standby.

It is also often possible (but not always) to avoid traps by going around them or skipping a chest. They are revealed by Perception or the Find Traps spell. But who really skips a chest!

As far as lockpicking goes, the same background and feat apply, there's the knock spell and there is an option in the game settings that allows retrying.
