There are a number of journals, books, letters, and so on that have no value and have no faction boost. One of the faction representatives tells you that these should have a value to them, even if they have no apparent resale value. In the Dark Tower you usually find three journals, however only the middle level character's journal has faction value. It would help in the ability to purchase items, crafting, and cash on hand if there were more faction items available. I just don't see why there seems to be a random distribution of faction value across the documents that you find. Perhaps I just am not finding most of the right materials.
The source of some of this, unfortunately, is the original hidden faction the "Church of Einar" that was available in EA and later cut. If you pay attention to the Priest of Arun near the backer monument in town, he's currently bugged to still use that faction to set his available goods and/or prices even though he is listed as the Principality of Masgarth.
So that that mean the faction was removed? If only the Priest was bugged, then should not the items still have the faction associated with them?
