I cast the Light Cantrip on my Mace and Shield during the story cave thing. I would like the option to dismiss the spell early. Because later with the orcs, I needed to stealth but I couldn't remove my light.
As for the bug, I finished my long rest but my light was still on my Shield. Even though the duration of Light is 1 hour.

I agree dismissing light would be ideal. However, a short term workaround is to switch weapons to a weapon group that is unlit. You can always draw your lit weapon back out during the surprise round.
