Library chest bug (since v 0.3.3)

Not only the chest on the ladder but also the chest where the misty step was required is seems bugged as well. I tried with misty step, jump, and fly. But none worked. Is levitate work? But unfortunately, I don't have a levitate spell... Before the patch, they both were approachable.

Levitate has ONLY vertical mobility.  You cannot move from your square with it.  It's really more of an offensive control spell.

Even in P&P you can only move with levitate if someone pulls you with a rope, or you happen to be close enough to a wall to pull yourself along it.  The levitation gives you no other mobility other than up and down.  Trying to emulate that in a video game might be more effort than it's worth.

Echo, after the patch I am unable to get to either of those chests in the library as well. I could get to both prior to the patch.

Chaps,

Same here... can't get to either chest now

I did have success with a thief though prior to this patch, at the misty step chest... using the shadow skill... not exactly sure what it is called though...

Came back at lvl 4 and tried levitate and spider climb, neither of which worked on either location :-(

OK came back at lvl 5! (No, I will not be beaten)! Although you do not need to be lvl 5 to cast these spells, (I had not chosen Misty Step at earlier lvl...).

Get close to the point where you want to "jump" over the chasm and position your caster in the archway, cast spider climb on your caster and target the stone floor ABOVE the archway in which you are standing... as you are moving up the walls, click "cast spell" and cast misty step by quickly choosing a point over the chasm near to the opposite edge from where your character is. (A green symbol appears on the floor, if it is possible to cast). CAST IT!

It took me about three attempts, but managed it eventually!! Chest had wand in it and a ruby... you can push the scaffold over to get back... Good luck!! :-)

AND... I managed to get to the second chest at the top of the tower by casting the fly spell, (this is lvl 5 I think), it was fiddly, but was successful in the end!!!

Never, ever, ever, give up...

I was annoyed by not being able to reach those chests my first pass through the game, So I created a team of maxed out elves to steamroll through and see if I could find a way to get to those chests.  No luck.  Nice work around you found Stephen.  Have you found a way to get to the upper chest where the ladder isn't working?

I'm hoping that the devs will fix this in the next patch.

Levitated creatures can still move, as long as they have contact to a surface, although it seems to behave very odd in Solasta, since they can even change altitude levels without the caster changing anything (but apparently only downwards at least from my testing).

Per 5e rules I always interpreted the spell similar as to moving in a gravitation free space with the addition that the caster can change altitude. However, if the affected creature receives momentum (i.e. another creature pushing it) in any direction, the creature would just glide that way. That means it should also be able to push itself along any surface. So in theory if a creature goes over an edge, it should keep its elevation level, even if it wants to go downwards (as long as it has no wall to pull itself along).

In this patch, there is a more serious error in the library, when the trigger for the attack of spiders is first triggered (after opening the box at the very top of the location), and after defeating the spiders, a teleport to the final scene with the Crown is triggered, when the lizards are defeated

I had this problem with the library. once the spider fight was over, the game took me to the cutscene where we beat the soraks. I figured it was because I chose to open the doors before doing the maze, (its easy to do if you have the misty step or the shadow step spells). I thought it was because I opened those doors so when I reloaded the last auto save before the spiders, I took care of the soraks before looting the rest of the library. The spiders came and went without any issues.

That whole dungeon has serious issues that weren't there until the 0.3.3 patch.

I hope the next huge update will fix this issue I share...

Did many tests also with v. 0.3.3.  One chest is impossible to reach, another can sometimes be reached but seems bugged.

i) Chest beyond a chasm near an open archway (with a sort of catwalk on top) at the other end of the library :

  • tried spiderclimb, jump spell, and Misty Step ;
  • Misty Step hits an invisible wall that blocks reaching the floor and Wizard falls down in chasm.

ii) Chest at the highest "plane" of the library near the middle :

  • tried spiderclimb, jump spell, and Misty Step ;
  • fiddling around a lot with the wonky mousewheel "planar targeting" (higher/lower elevations), I somehow got Misty Step to teleport my Wizard on top (just as I was about to give up) ;
  • the chest had the exact same loot as another chest in the library and looting it seemed to trigger odd item movements in my inventory;
  • as my Wizard was out of level 2 spell slots, there was no way down, and he was stuck forever and died of thirst :P (instead of climbing down or jumping down).  Even if my party does a long rest near-by, he does not regain spell slots stuck at the top there.  Nothing much lost there anyhow.

Conclusion : feels like the devs blocked access from those chests currently.

Secondary feedback : for the "planar" or elevation targeting, I would prefer a key to incrementally raise or lower, because the shift+mousewheel is very imprecise and hit or miss, for me anyhow.  Sometimes it would stop working all together and I had to switch characters around to get it working again.

I was able to get the chest at the top of the ladder using levitate to get my wizard high enough to "see" the platform then misty step to the chest.  Then had to do a short rest to get a spell slot back so I could misty step back down.

The chest had another primed leather armor and other misc stuff, same as the chest earlier in the mission.

I can't get to this darn chest hidden in the side alcove. I use Spider Climb to get down the wall OK,  but when I try the 'Misty Step' spell to teleport across, and click on onne of the highlighted squares,  my halfling runs off to ac ompletely different part of the library out of view!  WTF?  I think it must be a camera problem or some sort of movement bug as my Halfling is not going to where I point but instead somewhere else completely.  Mind you some pieces of the library near the camera seem to disappear when the camera gets too close and then you can't click on them
