Just picked up the gem at the lava forest, went to Shield tower. (Crash)

I have put a bit of time into getting the gems and all of the side quests on my way back to go to main town tried to stop at the Shield tower to teleport back instead of long hauling it.  Right when i get to tower i get an error that makes me quit the game (error loading data) , saying its corrupted.  i did the file verification multiple times.  I don't want restart.
