I found out that if you drop any item on the ground, then you left click the pouch on the ground to pick it up and quickly open the character inventory you are able to loot the item twice. Once from the ground area and the second from the loot all section.

In multiplayer, there's no need to be quick about it. If one character uses the context-menu (right click) to drop while interacting with an inventory, another nearby character will also see that item on the ground and may pick it up, but it also stays in the inventory (e.g. party chest). Thus item duping is trivial in multiplayer too.
