One of my absolute faves of any RPG style play, was Birthright: A Gorgons Alliance.

You could RP that game and go on D&D dungeon adventures to enhance the 3 ways of winning,

you could win the game economically thru merchants and trade

or

you could win the game thru political means

or

you could win the game thru military conquest

One of my absolute favorite lines of dialogue from any game, came from that one. During a dungeon excursion when you encountered orcs, 1 of them would inevitably say to you.. "c'mere. I'll make ya into a dead guy"
