How to Play Steam Workshop Modules

Since there seems to be some confusion as to how player made modules work on Steam, and the instructions aren't very clear except on the modules themselves...

Step 1: Find the Module you want to play and click the Subscribe Button.

NOTE: Modules with the same name must ALL be subscribed to or you will get dumped to the main screen with an error when you hit an area transition to go to the next floor. Some module makers create Collections on Steam. In the Collections side it allows you to Subscribe ALL at the bottom of the page. like these.

Collections on Steam

Step 2: Check for a STEAM download on your downloads. You should see a STEAM download for Solasta.

Step 3a: Start up the game and go to Dungeon Maker on the side. Select the 1st dungeon of the series with the same name and then click the Play button at the bottom.

Step 3b: OR... click on New Adventure... click the Change Campaign button... Select USER CAMPAIGN... Click the CHANGE button....Select the 1st dungeon of that series... and click play... It will then allow you to select the characters of the level the module is set for... make SURE you have characters of that level for that module or you will see a blank screen.

Step 4: Once you complete that series of modules under the same name that you have subscribed to... there will be an exit point at the end telling you this is the end of the module. Exit that module by that exit point and you will get a screen similar to this one...

Character export screen

You then click the Update File button under each character, and it will export them with all the Levels and EXP they gained in that module as well as the items they gained.

You can then use those characters to play other modules that require characters of those levels.

Just beat the main campaign and subscribed to your slaver’s campaign, so these instructions are timely. Thank you, and looking forward to it!

Yeah, only thing is it doesn't do it.

I updated  mine after getting you have won deal,   but when I went to another campaign it wanted me to get new characters.

Yes it actually does work.

But you have to have characters for the levels of whatever module it is you want to play. The DM sets the Minimum and Maximum levels for the module in the Settings in the Dungeon Maker.

If your characters are either too high, or too low for that module, then they will not appear at the selection screen.

And this is a problem on the Module maker side as well, they have to state what character levels their campaign is for in their Module Post or that will happen to people that play their modules.

Who has control for the massive button in the top banner of the Steam workshop for Solasta that says "Download and play dungeons: LEARN MORE"? It goes to the DM Manual which is no help.

Is that Steam or TA?

I think that’s TA, and yeah, it does not help much. The threads here and on Discord made it make a lot more sense. It’s still pretty clunky jumping into a campaign, I hope TA puts some polish on this, it has some great potential!

Is there a way to access these adventures if you're playing through Xbox Gamepass Ultimate?
