How to build an aggressive Barbarian?

"Berserker" already sounds like a class that deals tons of damage!

Thus far I couldn't find much about an aggressive approach to this class.

So my question is: How do i build em' to see high rolls of damage?

Thanks :-)

Step 1:

Pick literally any other subclass than Berserker. Berserkers are awful.

Step 2:

Have high strength and constitution.

Step 3:

Use a greatsword or other 2handed weapon.

Step 4:

Pick the Follow Up Strike feat at lvl 4. This feat gives you a bonus action attack when using heavy melee weapons, which is the same benefit as Berserker gives.

Congratulations, you now have a Barbarian capable of doing tons of damage.

Optional steps:

Pick Path of the Claw for increased damage at higher lvls.

Craft strong items, like the Lightbringer Greatsword.

Use Rage and Reckless Attack together.

Typos happen. More so on the phone.

Follow Up Strike's bonus attack kinda sucks. It only does 1d4 damage and doesn't get bonus elemental damage a magic weapon should potentially be adding.  Not sure if Berserker's  is just as bad.

1d4 + strength. Since Barbarians usually don't use their bonus action that much, that adds up over time. Berserkers are awful for 1) Frenzy gives you exhaustion and 2) it keeps you from stronger subclasses. For damage, Claw is the best in the longrun for Barbarian. 1d8 elemental damage on every melee weapon attack is good and should work with Follow Up Strike.

Half orc berserker with high const doesn't care for exhaustion, except for the occasional bad roll.

Using the berserker with a good 2h weapon that deals additonal (elemental) damage is way stronger than the additional 1w4+str perk attack.

We played a 4p MP, all players pretty much powergaming it. The 'Zerker could have soloed the game. Often times, we were just watching him deal 100+ dmg per round while only taking half damage and tanking it all. We played on "scavanger" mode.

If we felt like totally overdoing it, I (wizard) threw haste on him and just sat back behind a corner and watch the slaughter party.

What Is the Best Barbarian Build? The most commonly played Barbarian build is the Whirlwind build due to its unmatched combat mobility and survivability. Frenzy Barbarians are also fairly popular due to their high single-target damage output and sheer speed.
