How is hp calculated in the game?

In regular dnd you would either roll your hit die and add your con or take the average roll and add your con to get your hp at each level. From what I've seen this game doesn't seem to do either of those. In fact it seems to be giving you the max roll on the hit die at each level and only adding your con mod once. Is this intentional or is something wonky here?

The standard 5e rules give you maximum hit points at first level. At subsequent levels you get the average, rounded up. So d6=4, d8=5, d10=6, d12=7, plus Con bonus, Racial bonus etc.

That has been the amount I received.

Yes EA has given you max HP at each level,

i would like the option of choosing a system (1/2 rounded up/max/roll/roll but <1/2 = 1/2 round down).

But I suspect the people/time limits mean that if it is implemented it'll probably be rolled into the difficulty levels.

i do applaud TA for giving the various options for rolling stats. They could have left it strait array but didn't.

(once done with the full game i am thinking of doing an all 18 stat start + race boost to see what happens.)

4th level Paladin, Hill Dwarf, 18 con. Maximised Hp would be 4x15=60, I have 48 which is the standard 1x15 + 3x11.

4th level Cleric, Hill Dwarf, 16 con. Maximised Hp woull be 4x 12=48. I have the expected 39:  1x12 + 3 x 9.

The Rogue and Wizard also have the normal hit points, not maximum.

Yeah, my half-elf paladin at lvl 4 also has 48 hp with 18 Con, so looks like you don’t necessary get max hp bonus on level up.

A couple Con feats also help with adding HP to your characters if you like.

I made a second run with the same characters and have exactly the same HP for every character. 5th level Human Paladin with only 17 Con has 49 HP as the Elf Rogue (16 Con)...
