Gamestopping Bug since patch still neither acknowledged nor addressed

With hotfix 0.2.7 the devs introduced a game stopping bug that still keeps me, and according to forum statements, other players from continueing the game.

Still no one from the dev team has acknowledged that this bug exists or that work on a fix has begun.

Would you please rectify that situation to not have us lose any hope in the future development of this product?

It should be evident that game stoppers are a priority fix target.

I am aware that this game is in early access and I can live with it still containing bugs and things that need fixing.

But if one cannot take advantage of the "access" part of "early access" it feels like a breach of contract from a customer's perspective.

What is the bug?

Inifinite loading screens while travelling from one location to the other. Encounter comes, you decide what to do and then it never stops loading.

I verifyied my installation files twice. It's definitely a problem with the current build.

I'm having the same problem, I can't leave town or travel because the loading screens are a bust now.

I have the same problem, also happens when saving... unfortunately, I uninstalled the game and now when I try to reinstall it steam becomes unresponsive...

Still no official reaction. I'm pretty sure the devs don't even read their own bug report forum.

Contradict me, devs!

BTW I am aware that it's the weekend and I do hope they get the weekend off.

But putting out a "hotfix" that introduces a game breaking bug right before they disappear for a couple of days seems rather unprofessional.

While I sympathize with your issues, and I understand you must be frustrated, antagonizing the devs is a poor way to encourage them to communicate with you. It's a small team, and it is the weekend.

That being said, I do hope you get your issues sorted and get a response to this.

I get how one could get the impression of me antagonizing the developers but the truth is that I am very much impressed by what they have already done with the game. The realisation of the 5e ruleset via the engine is anything but amazing. This game has huge potential and I am already fantasizing about the stories one could build in this engine if they were ever to release an editor.

I am merely puzzled by their approach to community and bugfixing. I have worked in software development myself for a good while now and releasing a game breaking patch and ignoring your community while you still depend upon their good will and help to promote your fledgeling product is just counterproductive.

I would love to show the game to friends but am prohibited through the actions (or lack thereof) of the game's developer. That just cannot be in their best interest.

Hopefully they will come around on this behaviour and produce the best possible game we can all wish for.

To be fair it has been one business day/three days. I personally don't expect to hear from the devs for up to one week after having issues. yes, it is game-breaking, but we as players don't know how many other problems they are already having to figure out, or what they as people are doing right now.

I get that it sucks to not be able to play the game when you get it, but we are in early access, and it's not uncommon for games to break with patches in this stage. If we get another patch without any comment on this bug, id understand this a little more.

 breach of contract

This seems overly-antagonistic.

Feelings aside, since the begin of early access has anyone ever gotten a response or reaction by the devs to any of the problems anywhere?

I cannot find any, be it on steam or discord or this forum.

Update: Myzzrym replied on steam on Saturday though he/she (?) thought it was fixable by checking file integrity.

That is not a solution. As I have already stated I checked that twice.

Please keep looking into that. If you do not already have access, I could provide my savegame for testing purposes.

I've seen many responses from the dev team both here in these forums and on Steam. They even have a tracker right at the top of these forums showing their most recent posts/responses. It's a small team, it's EA, give it some time. Not getting a response within 1 day then coming to the forums and saying how disappointing it is to not get an immediate fix or addressing the problem is a bit of an over reaction. If you don't want to live with the bugs and wait for a fix I would recommend getting a refund and waiting until release. I've seen AAA full releases with game breaking bugs that aren't fixed for weeks/months, some ever, chill out.

A message from discord:
"Hey there folk, just giving you a bit of info here.

We've been hard a work on a patch that should be released this week, which fixes tons of bugs and crashes and adds a healthy does of improvements. This is why we haven't been very present since launch, but be patient we'll get there" - Myzzrym

I have been helped in the meantime. Problem was a corrupted save game that seemed to load fine but game state was ultimately broken.

Returning to an earlier auto save fixed the problem for me.

Again thanks to Myzzrym and all the people at Tactical Adventures and keep making what seems to become the most amazing RPG experience in years!
