I tried to fly to enter Astradeo laboratory but I can't control the height of the character and so he can't enter over the grid...
Hold down the Shift key and roll the middle mouse button back and forth to adjust height level of where you'd like to fly/misty step/summon a creature on to. Also, don't enter that laboratory, the fight with the laboratory ghosts will bug the game.

It would have been nice if the game told you that while you cast Fly (or drink a potion or whatever). Right now, flying is more like "hovering a few inches above the closest surface".
