Flaming Sphere bug

During vampire fight, the vampire boss cast darkness with my mage's flaming sphere in the area, inexplicably dispelling it. Flaming sphere is not a light spell and should not be affected this way.

Special Bonus Bug for this encounter: after the battle is done, half plate and a shield are available as loot. If you loot both of these items and then trade the half plate to someone else, the shield vanishes and cannot be retrieved. Workaround: if you loot the SHIELD first, then trade it to someone else or loot the half plate with another character, it seems to break their mysterious accursed connection.

The reason flaming sphere is affected may be due to this:

"I would allow the darkness spell to dispel any spell of 2nd level or lower that explicitly produces light." - Jeremy Crawford (Twitter link)

"It’s not all abra-ca-fuck-you and what have you. I have a beating heart! I’m multi-dimensional! I’m a fully-realized creation!" - Taako Taaco (TAZ)

If that is the case, that sounds fair, but I believe the spell should get a "Light" tag so you know what you're getting into.

Definitely, that would be a good addition. One they may have forgotten, or is coded in, but not where we, as players, can see.

Separate issue: My Flaming Sphere spell got disadvantage against a foe because it was 'unlit.'

@TheMadBard Was your FS above the Enforcer? If so, I think the bug is related to all z-axis-only bugs with light and not being able to see targets.

@mg666 I don't believe so.  If I remember correctly, it was in the space adjacent to the Enforcer.  I can see how it appears otherwise with the screenshot.

Okay. I've also encountered something similar. It was not FS, but enemy was standing next to bonfire. All the other enemies, a bit further away, were lit correctly.
