During the fight with the Skelatol Sorceror, I blocked the doorway with my Ranger, Cleric, and Fighter.  The Wight killed/KOed my cleric, then moved into her spot.  I then couldn't strike the Wight because I could only highlight my cleric, it would not highlight the Wight.I had to move my Ranger and my Fighter away from the doorway so that the Wight had to chase one before I could highlight him again.

While its not the best option and things being on top of each other is an issue you can target enemies and friendlies using the initiative order/character portraits at the top of the screen.

Just adding to your topic since it addresses the same thing I had issues with.

According to the tabletop rules, creatures cannot willingly end their movement on another creature's space. Also, a creature cannot move through a hostile creature's space at all, unless that hostile creature is two sizes larger. In my playthrough I encountered multiple instances of enemies walking over dying characters as well as ending their turns on those characters' spaces. Until a creature is dead, it's still a creature, so this should not be possible.
