No problems starting & meeting Sunblaze, then Vigdis. Get to the bridge & through the combat. Conversation with Vigdis.
End of conversation - character says he'll 'take the first watch' - then goes into a white loading screen.
Bottom right - the spiked circle turns, bottom left the tips display & change. Screen looks like a large cloud or snowdrift, shading from greyish at the bottom to cloudy white at the top.

I am also having this same problem.
I have had starts where I get to the first Snow Alliance City /mine. I forget the full name, but it begins with a K.
But there is a constant but random 'white screen crash', and I know of no common event or action on my part that would trigger it.

- Save your game before the dialog
- Quit the game completely (return to desktop)
- Restart the game
- Load that save
- Go through the dialog and do NOT skip the last dialog line ("il take the first watch").

There was, it appears, an update today.
I started the saved game, which had been saved just at the point you described - and so far it has worked. I'm not sure if it was the update or the 'hot-fix' - either way - thank you for the information
