Elves Not Immune to Ghoul Paralysis

Elves are traditionally immune to the paralysis effect of ghouls (though not of ghasts.) However, in Solasta my elf characters were forced to make Con saves and were paralyzed if they failed.

On a related note, it appears if a ghoul attacks a paralyzed creature, the game immediately rolls a Con save again and if it succeeds, the paralysis is immediately broken. (Already paralyzed creatures shouldn't have to make saves when attacked--they can't become more paralyzed--but should get a new save to try to shake off the paralysis at the end of each of their turns.)

Elves are not immune to paralysis in any form. The con save you see is the one you get as a result of taking damage

Not in 5e, they don't.

They most certainly still are in 5E.

Ghoul Monster Manual entry (emphasis mine)

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) slashing damage. If the target is a creature other than an elf or undead, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Well that's weird that's it not listed under an Elf's racial ability. But good catch. Now I know elves should fear ghouls.

It's always been that way. An odd little note in the ghoul monster entry in each edition going all the way back to Chainmail. (Ghasts however, CAN paralyze elves.)

Having been through so many editions and variations I get stuff mixed up sometimes. So do a lot of my players. But I do think it used to be listed under the Elf racial abilities before.
