I have a frostburn dagger equipped but when i roll for damage it only rolls the d4 damage of the dagger, and not the d8 cold damage. I've tried equipping it to main and secondary hands and it has the same result.

Was the enemy immune to Cold, by any chance? There should be a line in the combat log if it is.
