difference between armors (magnificent)

Hi, Ive tried googling this, but cant find an answer.   Im fairly new in the game and picked up "Magnificent Chain Mail."   Now, I understand its magical and not "standard."   But what real, practical advantages are there in keeping (wearing) this?  Its the same weight, AC, stealth profile, etc. as my regular chain mail.   But its worth a LOT more, so I'd like to sell it.

Thank you for your time.

This got me at first and I've played other D&D based computer games.  It turns out that magical armour/weapons need to be identified before the unknown magical effects apply.  Anything with "Magnificent" is magical, but you don't yet know the properties of the magical item so need to identify it first (eg with the spell identify).  Once you do identify a magical item any others that you pick up that are of the same type will automatically be identified.

The "Detect Magic" spell can also be used to show all of the magical items that have yet to be identified in your inventory of your party (they appear with a blue aura and a question mark in your inventory).

It is also worth noting that some magic items do not necessarily have a clear clue in their name. It is always a good idea to check for high gold values or even better use Detect Magic before selling items. After using Detect Magic any unidentified magic items will have a "?" on their icon.
