I have two sets of armor and one says DEX Bonus and the other says DEX Bonus (max 2) they both provide AC of 15. What is the difference in the DEX?
Light armors allow you to add your full Dexterity modifier to your AC, while medium armors only allow up to a +2 bonus from your Dexterity.
If you have a Dex of 16 (a +3 modifier), then your AC while wearing light armor is that armor's AC + 3. However, your AC while wearing medium armor would be that armor's AC +2 (because the Dex bonus caps at 2).
For studded leather (AC = 12 + Dex) and Chain Mail (AC = 13 + Dex/max 2), a Dexterity of 16 would result in AC 15 for both armors.
