Customising character appearances (clothing, armour)

Any chance that for a future patch or tweak, we get the chance to edit our character's appearance in terms of armour and/or clothing and how it actually does appear?  Change colour,  have emblems or sigils etc as well?  All the armour and clothing appears to be a little bit bland and generic.  For example,  Dwarven armour needs to be more tank-like and clunky, whilst Elven armour should be dainty and lighter all around.
