Since the Winter patch, the character stuck with the crown now has their "use item" filled with the crown and clicking on it only shows the crown special ability and not potions. So the only way for that character to drink a potion is from the inventory.
My crown is on a cleric, if that helps.

lucky, i gave the crown to my thief with fast hands so i'm doubly screwed, i thought "hey hobbits have shown a resilience to magic items so i will give it to her"
