Crafting Costs

It doesn't cost any money to do any crafting besides scribing scrolls into a wizard book (a completely unaddressed cost), so another reason loremaster and those feats are poor choices.

Loremaster seems terrible, agree.  The other two choices are so much better.

I agree. Only at the 10th level, it feels like they gain something useful. What I and few other people wrote about loremasters in past in EA Feedback in Balance and Archetypes still applies - only now my suggestion would be to move 6th and 10th level benefits to 2nd and 6th level respectively and to add something interesting on 10th level.

For now, I'd suggest changing the crafting part to take the same time and consume the same resources as other classes do but I'd change the output of loremasters to double of what it is currently - since adding half-components would be a significant investment time-wise now I'd suggest doing it this way instead.

If the recipe now takes 1 X and 2 Y of resource costs, 8hrs of crafting time and gives one scroll/potion I'd change it so that loremasters get 2 scrolls/potions after 8hrs and the recipe for him would still take 1 X, 2 Y and 8hrs.

To add to this, in EA, most consumable crafting was a net positive, i.e, you could sell the results for more than the ingredients for most recipes. It wasn't a big income, but it was something you could do to earn money during overland travel (besides beat up random encounters). So the Loremaster also had the advantage that they could earn money faster.

In the full release, the resale rates were considerably lowered compared to EA, making consumable crafting a net negative. Which also makes the Loremaster a money sink rather than a money positive. This adds to what you are talking about. I agree - the Loremaster is now basically useless compared to the Green Mage or Shock Arcanist.

Yeah, something is broke with resale. We're getting punished for higher faction.

I'm doing what someone suggested and dropping everything I want to sell, but outside of town. The scavengers will take a while to get it back to me, but the gold yield is much higher.

I agree too that it would be nice to just make some +1's to get rid of those extra primed items you're not going to use and make a little cash.

Gorin seems to pay the most for stuff.  I tested all the vendors in the main town...but she seems to pay about the same as if you just leave it on the ground and let the Scavengers deal with it.  That seems broken.
