I've been playing since launch and was doing fine until some update or another killed my ability to play. Played just fine recently again and it reminded me why I bought the game twice (Steam and GOG - currently playing on GOG since that's where I bought the upgrades).
Latest graphics driver seems to have broken the game again, but this has actually been going on for months and months. One happy driver doesn't outweigh every single other driver being a problem. I'm inclined to think there's something else going on, too.
Where, how, who, when? Almost literally every map. I crashed right before getting to the final fight at the rift over and over and just crashed again doing the intro with a new party.
In what map / where exactly in the map did the bug happen? See above. Has happened on too many maps to track.
How did it happen? Did you click somewhere, did you open a menu, did you cast a particular spell? Sometimes during combat when I'm waiting for a result, sometimes right before/after a cutscene, sometimes while just moving across the map, and even sometimes when I pause to go refill my water bottle.
Who did it happen to? Was it a Hill Dwarf Life Cleric level 3? Was it a Human Shadowcaster Rogue level 5? Was it an NPC? A wide variety of characters. Level 12 about to beat the game and level 1 in the intro.
When was the save that you loaded made? Is it a fresh run, or is it a save from a previous version (with a little warning mark next to it)? When I started having these problems, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times and even went so far as to delete all of my characters so I had nothing left over from the previous install. Still happening.

I really love this game and would just like to have it be a bit more stable. I keep trying to lower and change graphics settings and am running out of tricks.
I just sent the email and realized I forgot to include that my video card is a Radeon RX 5500 XT. D'oh!
The same thing has been occurring to me. I'm playing the game through Xbox game pass. At first, I was playing on high settings on my 3060 and it crashed. I set the graphics to the lowest setting, changed to windowed fullscreen, and even ran the game with administrative privileges. The game will crash at random moments. I haven't even been able to make it outside of the town because of the crashes.
