Can't Use Button to Access Stairs Dark Castle

 On Gem Quest: The Dark Castle, after speaking to Lizzaria who said to go upstairs, the door up to the next level its locked.  There is a visible button to the right of the door but my characters cannot interact with it.  This is using a save game from before the Winter Update.
