Can't level up

I am trying lo level up a wizard to level 11 but when I select two spells the finish button remains grey. It has a hint saying "None of your spellbooks contains enough room to scribe these spells. You must acquire a new spellbook to complete the level up sequence."

As far as I can tell you have added a new rule and then failed to document it. Nothing in the ui for a spell book says what its limit is or how full it is. It doesn't even list the level of the spells so working it out manually will be a tedious process.

The wording implies you can skip the spells and come back later to get them but I can't see a way to do that.

An additional issue is that when leveling up it doesn't tell you what spells were selected. If you select auto at 7th level or higher good luck working out which spells it picked.

This is nothing new.  If you hover over a spell book, it tells you it contains 100 pages and shows how many pages are used and what spells it contains.  This game could use a manual or better in-game documentation, although most people these days don't bother reading manuals.  This information is in the game somewhere, but I don't remember exactly where I saw it.  Spells require a certain number of pages in your spell book equal to the spell level, so level 1 spells require 1 page, level 5 spells require 5 pages and so on.

If I hover over the spellbook it just lists the spells. No mention of capacity or how much is used.

If I press ALT it then adds a description that says it has 100 blank pages. I guess it should be saying 100 pages so that it is still correct after you scribe spells into it. These is still nothing saying how much is used - this is essential as working it out by hand is impractical.

After a lot of searching the only place I found a "description" of the change is in the custom dificcult settings - where there is an option to turn the limit off - the text then describes the effect of the option.

The number of used pages Is the first thing listed right under Spellbook Contents.  You don't even have to hold ALT.
