Cannot Exit Arrok's Area While Flying

During the battle with Arrok, I had one character that had consumed a flying potion before the battle. This was still in effect when Arrok and his minions were destroyed. While all the other party members were then able to leave the room in which the battle occurred by jumping between areas of stone, because the floor had changed to lava in several places I could not leave the room using the character who was flying. Every time I tried to cross the lava I simply received a message that there was no path to destination. No matter what height I chose, it seems like there was no flying path across the room. I had to wait for the flying spell to wear off before I could leave.
