I am just checking if anyone that did not start with Manacalon Rosary/that background has been able to buy one at any point in the game? I have got to the crownbearer bit where I have access to all the different faction sellers and it is not showing up in any of their stocklists.
I saw some people (I think on Reddit/Steam) post that they found one in the caves before the library, though I believe I got different treasure (or I am misunderstanding where they found it).
It would be a bit disappointing to not be able to craft items based on a starting choice (I already regret getting the dancing lights cantrip instead of light).
I am loving the game though, and am glad about most of the choices made for the game.
I started with proficiency but still didn’t start with a rosary. However I did find one but I don’t remember where.
I tried to find, but had no one in the end-game.(early access )

Hmmm, maybe you can only find it if someone has proficiency? I think I got a magical backpack (the 1.8x carrying capacity one) at the place that someone else suggested they found a rosary.
I might check with the developers later if this is a bug or working as intended, because if it is the latter it might be punishing those that don't meta-game prior to character creation.
Can I check whether the self-enchanted gear is much more powerful than +1 gear? Can people post stats of gear they have enchanted?
The only thing I had all the components to craft was the Doomblade Rapier. As far as I could see it had no special properties at all. No bonus or special effects but I'm guessing it's just not implemented yet.
I finished the EA and found no merchants who sold it or any treasure that contained it. A bit annoying since I had recipes that I could craft. Seems odd that it's so hard to find, give that the items required are so rare/expensive anyway. Hopefylly just an oversight.
I found a Manacalon rosary in a basket/barrel outside the mage's tower/library to the right of the entrance after fighting the unarmed workers with the A tattoos.
It appears that the drop isn't guaranteed as on my second playthrough this same barrel contained a holy symbol instead. Not sure how container loot is decided but it might be worth trying these containers at several different times during your playthrough?
Too bad... I'm playing my second run and I couldn't find the Rosary so far :(

First playthru, got the Rosary, but no chars with proficiency.
Second playthu, proficiency but no rosary drop.

Make all the crafting kits buyable, or none.. consistency rules..
I got the rosary both times I played before entering the castle.

My most recent playthrough (up to around 55 - 60 hours across all playthroughs) I had two characters with proficiency and I found two Manacalon Rosary next to the entrance to the library. I also got three as drops at some stage. I unfortunately don't have any craftable items, as the two recipes I have include ingredients I don't have access to. I also had a lot more recipes in the playthrough where I didn't have access to a Manacalon Rosary. I'm guessing that it will be fixed/expanded in subsequent updates.
It seems from Steve's post that the craftable items aren't useful yet anyway, with no bonuses.
So it is actually in the game, eh? I'm at the Bone Castle for the third time (completely finished once) and I've had an Academic in every part I've made. I've never once come across a Rosary. Not as a drop and not in a shop. I had just assumed it was still in development and not part of EA.
Also, I've found primed shortsword and leather armor, but the only recipes I've found were the rapier and greatsword. Another reason why I just assumed that crafting items wasn't actually in EA yet.
But yeah... seems a bit daft that the other crafts all give you a starting kit and then you can buy them in stores if you need to while this one is so darn rare.
Yes it is in the game. It is a random drop. I have found 2, in 100 hrs of playing. Both times, I found them outside the front of the Library.
If I remember correct I found the Rosary when selling items to one of merchants. Need to check it.
Well, tried to check merchants but wasn't able to find the Rosary.
It should be; crafting is gated behind components (and skills, which may be awkward) there is no need to hide the crafting kits too.
