I'm on the vampire's floor of the castle. There are boarded up windows that you could previously break open to create pools of light. Which didn't do much but were at least some help in the fight. The in-game clock says 12:30pm, so there should be daylight. I break the windows with sparkle and nothing happens.

Apparently dusk is at noon here? I came back later at 11:45am and there was light, but 12:30pm was dark.

Appears to be a clock display bug. I loaded the original save and clicked the short-rest button. A 1 hour break took me from 12:30pm to 1:30am. Which isn't how clocks work. But being dark out at midnight seems very reasonable.
