Hi, we launched the game (1.4.28) with the gamepass with a friend and got the same problem, settings going back to default when we close the game and reopen it. Audio, graphics, language, tutorial all went back to default as if we never launched the game. I'm able to save and load a savefile but settings are not saved.
I've looked at the userpref file in appdata folder and the game seems to recreate a new file when I launch it. When game is closed I can see my settings in the file but when I launch the game, a new file is created (or updated but the date and hour change) and things are back to default.

HI, I have the very same problem here on PC 'XBOX version'. I bought the game and all DLCs, I'm not just playing it as a Gamepass user. Every time i boot up the game, all the preferences are reset to default and the tutorial starts popping up like it's the first time i access. Also online sync with my Xbox Series X version doesn't seem to work properly any more. All of this after your latest update to 1.4.28. I tried everything inculding changing ownership of directories and allowing reading/writing to try and fix it but no way. Any help?
Same deal here on PC - Gamepass version. Settings changes don't stick and revert on every game start.
Not only that, but the PC version does not sync with the xbox series X anymore. They used to, but it's not happened in weeks now. I'm playing 2 separate versions , i keep receiving the 'cloud save failed' error every time i boot up the PC version and that version always restarts all of the tutorials and settings from scratch. I love this game, I'm trying do create an adventure using the editor, but this is making it very hard to persevere. I don't know, this is not the only thread talking about this, I've found some from as far as more than 1 year ago, but there's never any answer to any of them. like they get ignored. Maybe there aren't many people having this problem, but the problem does exist and clearly it's not being dealt with. Please, any help?
