BUG: Free Inventory action dissapears

It happened to me multiple times, in t. (With multiple locations, and different characters too)

Game version: 1.2.11 Public

Reproduce:

  1. Open the inventory in combat
  2. select a scroll
  3. right click
  4. cast
  5. Target select: when you would choose a target, instead cancel the spell. (For example, the enemy/friend you wanted to target is too far).

After that the game won't allow you, to do anything with inventory.

It is more of a design choice than a bug.

Though I see your point that you did not cast the scroll (Action), you did pull out the scroll and try (1 object interaction).

After paying more attention to it ...

As soon as I do any kind of click in the Inventory, the Interaction is used and gone for that round.

So if I just simply click on a weapon for example, but do not slot it and change my mind... Zap: it is gone.

Hey!

We could confirm the issue when you click on an equipped item in the Weapon Slots, but we cannot get the issue to occur in other situations.

We'll dig a bit deeper, then notify the team!

I am not sure it is an issue : it just works that way for technical simplicity.  If you click/interact with ANY item in the Inventory, your Interaction is used for that round.  You cannot do another object interaction.

So you can click a scroll, but then release it... Interaction over.

You right click to cast, change your mind. Interaction done.

You click on a weapon, change your mind, place it back in an Inventory square: Interaction done.

It is not a bug, but just how they implemented that option on a technical level. Once you know that, you avoid clicking stuff in the Inventory in combat unless you are certain you want to try that scroll or use that item.

Follow-up : oddly, to my surprise, what I wrote above is not always true if you close and re-open your Inventory.  Sometimes you regain your object Interaction per turn if you did nothing with the item you clicked initially.

BUT it is true that attempting to cast a Scroll, but cancelling that action, does use your object Interaction for that turn.
